Sringeri Sankaracharya visits Palamadai

Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji visited Palamadai on 30th April 2012 as part of his ongoing Vijay Yatra of South India. He spent one night in the Palamadai Agraharam. Palamadai descendants and other devotees from far afield visited Palamadai to pay their respects to the Pontiff. The village wore a festive look, with colorful shamianas erected at several places. A red carpet was laid from the temple to the Sankara Matham. The Sankaracharya stayed at a house opposite the Matham.
